Model : PerkinElmer NexION® 2000

Ultra‑trace elemental analysis down to parts per billion.

The PerkinElmer NexION® 2000 ICP-MS is an advanced analytical instrument designed for ultra-trace elemental analysis. It provides exceptional sensitivity, accuracy, and reliability for detecting metals, trace nutrients, and elemental contaminants in complex environmental, industrial, food, and research samples.

Overview

Our center is equipped with a state-of-the-art PerkinElmer NexION® 2000 Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry system, one of the most powerful techniques for ultra-trace elemental analysis.

The instrument enables precise identification and quantification of elements at extremely low concentrations, supporting advanced research, environmental monitoring, industrial quality control, food safety assessment, and regulatory compliance testing.

What It Measures

The instrument quantifies the concentration of specific elements within a sample. Its remarkable sensitivity allows it to measure down to extremely low levels, including Parts-per-billion (ppb, or μg/L).

  • Toxic Heavy Metals Lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, chromium, nickel, and other hazardous elements.
  • Trace Nutrients Iron, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, magnesium, and other essential elements.
  • Elemental Contaminants Ultra-trace inorganic contaminants in water, soil, sediment, waste, food, and industrial materials.

Key Applications

ICP-MS supports environmental monitoring, food safety, industrial quality control, and circular economy applications through reliable ultra-trace elemental analysis.

  • Water Quality Detects heavy metals in drinking and wastewater samples.
  • Soil & Sediment Analysis Assesses elemental contamination from industry, landfills, and runoff.
  • Air Pollution Assessment Analyzes elements in airborne particulate matter samples.
  • Food Safety Detects toxic metals in food and agricultural products.
  • Nutritional Analysis Measures essential minerals and trace nutrients in products.
  • Energy & Industrial Applications Tests ash, residues, raw materials, and recycled products.

All devices are operated within standardized laboratory workflows to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance with analytical standards.
